Continuing our short series on Paul's famous chapter on love, we use an imaginary protest-movement to illuminate his teaching in 1 Corinthians 13:4–7, where he lists things that genuine love will never do, pointing out that biblical love does not parade itself, is not puffed up, is not rude, does not seek its own, is not easily provoked, but by contrast, rejoices in the truth. We consider each of these in turn and show how every negative has a positive counterpart which, if embraced personally and corporately, leads to blessing, joy and the glory of God.
