The Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13) Part one. Although thousands of faithful preachers proclaim the gospel, the Holy Spirit is the ultimate sower of the gospel seed. Paul tells the Corinthians "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase". We also learn why some reject the gospel outright or fall away under trial. Practical takeaways include recognizing spiritual opposition, the need for deep roots through the indwelling Spirit, and the promise of living water that sustains believers through drought. The exposition will conclude in Part two which will consider the thorns and the good soil.

We rightly celebrate the New Year but in our present chaotic world it will bring new fears that things will get worse rather than better. Jesus' teaching in Matthew 24 is set against a similar backdrop of global unrest—wars, deception, persecution, pestilence, and rising lawlessness. "Be followers of me" he says elsewhere, "as I am of Christ".

The sermon based on 1 cor. 6:11, explains the threefold work of the Holy Spirit by which sinners are transformed into saints (or true believers). They are washed (regenerated), sanctified (set apart), and justified (decreed righteous in His sight) bringing them into a new relationship with God and the assurance of belonging to Him through faith in Christ

This is part two of our Christmas Meditation and continues the theme of Christ's fulfilment of old testament prophecy but with emphasis on those scriptures that predicted his person and nature, namely his virgin birth, hid deity, his atoneing death and hiss exaltation to be King of kings and LORD of lords. We examine verses from Micah, Daniel and Isaiah.
